The last time I made Pai Bao(Bread arranged
in a line) was 7 months ago & since I like the recipe very much, I have
been using it again & again to make my <Honey Yoghurt Sweet Potato BreadRolls> & this time is the <Dried Longan Wholemeal Pai Bao>! I made some changes on the recipe but the bread still taste good to me & I hope
you’ll like it too!

I’ve recently received some gifts from MuiMui(My 123 Favourites DIY) for this year’s Christmas + my next
Birthday! Thanks again Mui Mui, you are so sweet & generous! I’ll use these
gifts in the future!

Bernice, you are my special guest today & 1st one who turned up! Oh, did you also make this? Sure, have some now as I always come to your place to take free bread!
DeleteHi Jessie, have been visiting ur blog for some time.
ReplyDeleteHi, Natalie, thanks for saying hi here! Looks like I've known another new friend in Australia. Welcome welcome! Thanks for following my blog!
DeleteHi Jessie, when I saw the title Wholemeal, I hurried over to have a look because I am always looking for wholemeal recipes... I have never added yakult to my bread, I am just so amazed by this recipe which has wholemeal, yakult and yoghurt. Think if I substitute the butter for oil, then it will be super super healthy. Your loaf looks so soft...
ReplyDeleteMich, I didn't use the yakult in making the bread dough. I drained the dried longan & discard the yakult. I didn't explain clearly in my original recipe but I've done it now!
DeleteHi Jessie
ReplyDeleteI loves this recipe bread too.... oh next time I will sprinkle roll ed oats too...I love that. Usually how do you knead the bread dough?
Bread machine or mixer or by your mighty hand? Your pai pau baked really beautiful.
Mel, thanks you like the bread. I didn't use my hand to knead the dough as I'm not that good. Machine is good for beginner to get a smooth & elastic dough. I used a stand mixer, Kenwood brand. You can view the brand here: http://jessie-cookingmoments.blogspot.com.au/2012/02/winning-prizes-birthday-gift-ladies-day.html
DeleteI really like dried longan, so I'm sure this will taste delicious. The texture looks so soft.

Delete
DeleteThese are lovely - and so perfectly formed! Thank you so much for adding such lovely contributions to the BYOB bread basket every month, Jessie! :)
ReplyDeleteHeather, please keep doing BYOB Blog hop event as this gives me a very good excuse to continue baking!
Delete
DeleteYUM! This bread looks so soft & fluffy, lovely texture! I can imagine it melts in my mouth! Heavenly! And what an amazing idea using dried longans! Thanks again for your support, dear friend. I was very busy for the last couple of weeks due to my sis visit with her family. But I'm back & glad to see your lovely bakes :)
ReplyDeleteKit, no wonder you have gone missing for a while! Must be so exciting of having your sister at your home! Aiyoh, you & I are living so far away, not sure whether have chance to meet up with you or not, hahaha!
DeleteJessie, wah....I look at your pai bao and I wish I can ask for at least one from you. It looks soft and yummy. I like bread a lot and I think if I make this pai bao, I can sekali gus eat all 6 :)
ReplyDeletePhong Hong, you can't finish this in 1 day because these pai bao is quite big, I had 1 & I felt full! Luckily I had my husband & son to help me to finish them. It still took us 2 days to finish this!

DeleteHi Jessie, your bread look so good, very soft and fluffy. You're sure very professional in breadmaking. Very nice presentation too.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week ahead, regards
Amelia, it would be great if I can use my bread to dip into the curry that you had made b4!
Deletelooks healthy!
ReplyDeletethe taste must be good too...
I like the sweetness of the dried longan, it balanced off with the less sweet bread!
Deleteso finally you got the heart shape chiffon pan, my also not yet "hui cheong", hehehe..what a healthy and looking soft bread you are having here..well done. Thanks for the mini oreo cookies in advance..
ReplyDeleteSonia, yes, received the heart-shaped chiffon pan & this can also be used to bake cheesecake or making pudding by replacing the tube base with a normal base! I don't know when will I use it, so better post it here first to thank Mui Mui, hahaha!
Delete
DeleteI love pay bao. You are very clever now in baking bread liao lo. Thumb up!!
ReplyDeleteJane, yoh, must make sure that I keep practising lah. I have more time to play masak-masak this year but next year will have less time as Ethan is going to start school!
DeleteSorry sorry I'm very late. As u know I've been working a lot lately. Even my own post I have no time to reply. Ohhhh...so this is the similar formula to the Cranberry pai bao....very innovative, can still create ur own formula and ingredients.
ReplyDeleteNow u have got the love shape mould...can start to make love shape chiffon.
Dear, yes, it is the same recipe but I never use cream cheese to make my bread as I seldom make cake at home & I don't want to buy it just to make the bread(sounds more fattening to me too, haha)! Yeah, so happy to receive the heart-shape chiffon pan!
Deletejessie, one day i shall make pai pao. Seeing your recent pai paos really tempted me to do so!
ReplyDeleteLena, try & let me know later, girl!
DeleteHi Jessie,
ReplyDeleteI have not bake Pai bao before and your wholemeal version look fabulous!
Can't really read Chinese very well... Did you send a blow torch to Doreen (mui mui)? Both of you are so sweet to each other :D
Zoe
Hi, Zoe, no, I don't think we can send blow torch via mail coz I know that even perfume is banned in posting. Anyway, I was explaining that family & friends have been given me many gifts & for some of the gifts, I keep them for a long time b4 use. And I mentioned that my sister-in-law had given me a blow torch which I had been keeping for 3 years b4 use!
DeleteLovely looking bread, Jessie! So sorry I haven't been visiting as often ... things are a little hectic here ... you know.
ReplyDeleteDried longan is dad's favorite snack. He eats them by the packets! I wonder if he'll enjoy this bread as well ... one way to find out! Thanks for sharing!
Ping, that's ok lah, no time how can go blogging, I understand! Don't worry about it!
