Now that we are in the 2nd month of Spring, the weather is a lot warmer & on certain days, I even call it hot! Made this Green Tea Tau Fu Fa@Tofu Pudding last week & this was in fact my 4th time of making Tau Fu Fa(TFF). For original flavour of TFF, click here. And to view the chocolate & pandan flavours, please click here.
The method of making this Tau Fu Fa is as easy as ABC. It only takes 3
ingredients to make, no fuss at all!
Green
Tea Tau Fu Fa@Tofu Pudding
(Adapted
from Lena <Frozen Wings>’s Recipe)
Serves
4
Ingredients:
600ml
Store-bought Sweetened Soy Milk
1.5tsp
Good Quality Green Tea Powder(I used Japanese Green Tea Powder)
1/2tsp
Agar-agar Powder
4-5tbsp
Red Bean Paste (I used Japanese Azuki Paste)
Dried
Osmanthus Flower桂花, to garnish (optional)
Method:
1. Place
soy milk & green tea powder in a blender. Whiz to mix well.
2. Pour
the green tea soy milk into a saucepan. Add agar-agar powder. Stir to cook over
low-medium heat until bubbles start showing up around the edges. Remove from heat & pour into a heavy bowl
or some glasses. Spoon out bubbles & leave to cool down completely.
3. Refrigerate for few hours. Serve cold with red bean paste & dried
osmanthus flower.
Note:
This
dessert can only be served cold because of the use of agar-agar powder.
I have made this Tau Fu Fa to eat in 2 very different ways! 1st way is to eat with some read bean paste & the other way is that I've converted it into a Taiwanese famous dessert! Come back in few days to see the recipe, ok?
Thanks to Small Small Baker for inviting me to join the Aspiring Bakers #24(October 2012):Jellies & Puddings hosted by Charmaine of MiMi Bakeryhouse

Oh, green tea tau fu fa! Great for a change instead of the normal tau fu fa. I have never make tau fu fa before. It does look real yummy going together with Azuki beans. You should know I wouldn't say no to dessert!!
ReplyDeleteMel, you are No.1 today! The method of making the tau fu fa has been simplified, no need to use gypsum powder anymore, I think it is more safe to use agar-agar than gypsum powder!
DeleteTracy, can you tell me what's the shop name because I also want to go to get more. RM10 is cheap, I think this 4 spoons cost over RM60!
Delete
Tracy, tapi huh, KLCC is so big, do you remember which floor? I love looking for treasure in this kind of shops!
DeleteJessie~~

DeleteThis green tea tao fu fa pudding sounds delicious. Eh.... Can see ur French lace ...very beautiful
ReplyDeleteLi Shuan, I bought it from an online Korean shop via Etsy. I think it's cheaper to buy online, this cost aud$18, postage included.
DeleteHi Jess,
ReplyDeleteI love all yout pictures..hehe I also love your green tea tau fu fa with adzuki bean..+p
You have lots of 'tools' for taking pictures hor!!! They are all so so pretty.
Looking forward for the 2nd way of you having your famous Taiwaness dessert..:)
mui..^^
Yes Mui Mui, most of my "tools" are newly bought. The paper doilies & the piece of french lace were bought from online Korean shop whereas the cup was from Daiso!
DeleteGreen tea + red bean are like a match made in heaven, don't you think? This sounds absolutely great! Some of my favourites (green tea, soybean, red bean) in one dessert! hehe. Thanks for sharing, Jessie =)
ReplyDeleteYes, they are perfect match! Whay are you waiting for, hahaha!
DeleteJessie, I believe you when u said this recipe is easy. I will try it someday. Last time I made your egg custard and I love it.
ReplyDeleteYen, yes, you did a great job with the steamed egg custard & this TFF is very easy! Steamed egg custard is creamy & have a stronger flavour whereas this is lighter & smooth!
ReplyDeleteGirl, I think 99.99% of the girls like green tea & red bean dessert, hahaha!
DeleteHi Jessie, I was thinking of making tau foo fah with chocolate and green tea too! Now that you confirmed it tastes good, I shall do so later this month :)
ReplyDeleteMich, I used long life chocolate milk to make the pudding & it gave a salty flavour. This on the other hand bought it from the Asian store & it was sweet & I prefer this one.
DeleteJessie, I want some! I am thinking how nice and creamy and cold and yum, yum, yum this dessert is......I want to try and make seeing that it is quite easy :)
ReplyDeletePhong Hong, I would say they were very smooth & light but not creamy though. I like it & don't mind of eating it every week(after my dessert-free diet), hahaha!
DeleteFabulous idea leh! Love the smooth texture & the flavour too. Very innovating ! Well done Jessie! I must try one of your TFF recipe! :)
ReplyDeleteKit, this is a very smooth & light pudding! I didn't have to add sugar becoz the soy milk is sweet enough. Long life soy milk will result a salty version!
DeleteThis post has my mouth watering!
ReplyDeleteThanks, cquek!
